To Lani From Wayne

A couple in our new ward has a 3 year old, a one year old and just had twins girls 4 months old named the Reynolds. This past month, the Dads father passed away suddenly. We had already bonded with the Reynolds by having them over for dinner and a Halloween FHE. See Darcy's blog for more info about her service to them. During the time that he was in Utah for While they were away for the funeral we had a storm where trees fell down power was out large and small branches were everywhere, pine needles blanketed the ground. Brother Reynolds hadn't cleaned the pine needles because of the craziness with having twins and two other kids. The drive way had over 2 inches of pine needles on the steep driveway. I waited for an opportunity for the weather to break but it never came. Finally, the night before they came home I gave up waiting and went over in the rain. I cleaned the yard, driveway, and porch in the rain Dillon helped with the lights to help me see where to go and what to clean. Sorry the is no pictures but with the darkness and rain you wouldn't be able to see it anyway. I love you, Merry Christmas Lani!

  2. When the family came over for Halloween, I went to go and take a photo of Wayne holding both twin baby girls at one time...So cute! However my camera didn't work...I bought a new one a few days later as I missed out on a priceless photo op!

  3. Wayne wins the award for... exhaustion from so much most physical labor that no words could describe it.

    Great service Wayne!

  4. I would have loved to see a picture with Wayne and the twins! Sidenote...let's all cross our fingers that I will have twins next! :)

Wayne, great job on your service! You are so cute to wait and wait for the weather to clear up, but then when it didn't, you didn't hesitate at all about going out and serving! Love you big brother!

And great job to Dillon for helping out in the rain also!

  5. I am always so happy when our gardeners clean up our walkways and make our place look so nice. I will be sad when we don't have that luxury. I know that they must have really enjoyed it.

  6. Wayne, I'm so sorry- I thought I had posted on this one but apparently I never did. THANK YOU so much for this service! It is funny, we have watched the movie PS I love you 2 times in the last week and it makes me cry wondering how I would be able to get out of bed without Michael let alone do yard work. Thank you for being sensitive to the hidden needs of this poor widow. I'm sure it meant a lot to her as I know it did me. Thanks big brother!

  7. Oh, I just realized it was the father of the family, still awesome because I can only imagine how draining a long trip like that for a funeral would have been. Thanks Wayne!

  8. Way to ruin the movie PS I love you that I have on Blue Ray but no blue ray player to play it in! Wayne, that is such a nice thing to do and I am sure they were very greatful for the help you provided after a very long and draining trip for them. Great job finding a need.
